About Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks is one of the most prominent neighborhoods in San Francisco. These two rounded mounts reach an elevation of 910 feet above sea level. Only Mount Davidson is higher in San Francisco (which is at 925 feet above sea level). Twin Peaks is famous for its amazing views of San Francisco and the Bay.

The houses that are built in the Twin Peaks neighborhood date back to the mid-to-late 1900s. This is considerably new when compared to many other older neighborhoods in San Francisco, especially given the history of this city. It was once part a sprawling Mexican land grant known as Rancho San Miguel. The neighborhood of Twin Peaks serves as a dividing barrier, separating the eastern and western parts of the city from each other.

One of the most distinctive features of the homes and luxury properties on Twin Peaks is the fact that they are built on land with a steep grade. Many of the properties had to be terraced before they could be developed. Although the Twin Peaks neighborhood isn’t well known for its Victorian or Edwardian-charm, it does offer some of the best views in San Francisco.
